Homemade Chocolate!
10 December 2015
I have been asked about this recipe by so many friends that I have decided to share it with all of you. This is something that is always stored in my freezer so whenever I fancy something sweet I am not tempted to eat bought sweets and chocolate packed with sugar and additives. Homemade chocolate is also a great treat for kids and the best thing about it is that you can personalise it adding whatever you fancy: desiccated coconut, almonds, cranberries, chia seeds, hazelnuts, orange zest, chilly, peppermint and so on! So here goes: Ingredients:
- 1 cup of Raw cacao powder
- 2 tablespoons of Maple syrup
- 1 cup Coconut butter
- Vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
Melt the coconut oil in a glass bowl over a pan of water and add the cacao and maple syrup, vanilla extract and salt and mix well. Then add any other ingredients you like (see list above); I have added cranberries and almonds in mine then pour the mixture in a baking tray put in the freezer. Once it sets it’s ready. I prefer to keep it in the freezer but the fridge is fine too. Enjoy!!
